Melissa Jefferson-Wooden Makes History at World Championships
Melissa Jefferson-Wooden has become the first American woman to win both the 100m and 200m titles at a single World Athletics Championships.
After taking the 100m title, she secured the sprint double with a world-leading time of 21.68 seconds in the 200m final. This historic achievement makes her only the fourth woman in history to complete the sweep.
The victory comes after a stellar season where she has consistently set new personal bests.
