The intersection of sports and global entertainment is reaching an unprecedented pinnacle this summer. In a massive announcement that has sent shockwaves through the music world, pop icon Justin Bieber has officially been added to the performance roster for the highly anticipated tournament finale. The singer will bring his massive catalog of chart-topping hits to the global stage, solidifying what is tracking to be the most-watched musical event of the decade.

The upcoming spectacular marks a monumental shift in how the beautiful game celebrates its ultimate match. For the first time in tournament history, organizers are introducing a formal, full-scale entertainment segment midway through the championship game. This inaugural World Cup final halftime show is set to take place on Sunday, July 19, 2026, transforming the New York New Jersey Stadium into a global concert arena for an eleven-minute broadcast.

Curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and produced in partnership with Global Citizen, the ambitious event is designed to blend music with a massive philanthropic mission. The star-studded broadcast will actively support the newly established Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million to expand quality schooling and sports opportunities for underserved children globally.

Adding massive star power to the historic event, Justin Bieber joins the co-headlining bill to round out a fiercely talented cross-generational group of performers. The “Peaches” vocalist will take the stage alongside a powerhouse trio of previously announced global heavyweights, including pop queen Madonna, Latin icon Shakira, and K-pop sensations BTS.

“Justin Bieber, Madonna, Shakira, and BTS are global icons whose music transcends borders and generations, and we are proud to welcome them to this first-ever spectacle. As the world comes together for the biggest match in football, this historic show will also shine a light on a greater purpose.”

Organizers also revealed an expanded roster of special guests set to join the headliners. African superstar Burna Boy will take the stage to perform his smash-hit collaboration, alongside acclaimed Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the New York Philharmonic, and the PS22 Chorus. Even beloved characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets are slated to make an appearance, reinforcing the night’s focus on universal childhood education.

As anticipation builds for the historic final whistle, the addition of the Canadian pop star ensures that the entertainment value will perfectly match the intensity on the pitch. With billions of viewers expected to tune in from every corner of the globe, this monumental halftime show is poised to redefine the cultural impact of international sports broadcasting.
