In a vulnerable and revealing interview on the Armchair Expert podcast released on April 13, 2026, actress Jennie Garth shared the harrowing financial reality she faced once her time on Beverly Hills, 90210 came to an end. Despite being one of the most recognizable faces of the 1990s, Garth admitted that the transition from a steady high-income stream to career uncertainty led to significant personal and financial loss.

During her conversation with host Dax Shepard, Garth detailed how she lived in a bubble of financial security during the height of the show’s fame. She confessed to spending freely, assuming the revenue would never dry up. However, the end of the series brought a harsh awakening. This candid admission highlights the recurring financial challenges for former child stars and television icons who must navigate the steep drop-off in income once a long-running series concludes.

One of the most emotional segments of the interview involved Garth’s regret over selling her primary residence and a ranch she had purchased for her children. Garth revealed that in a moment of “cash crunch panic,” her business manager at the time convinced her that she was on the brink of total financial ruin. Fearing for her future, she followed the advice to liquidate her most prized assets—a move she now views as a massive mistake driven by fear rather than necessity.

Now 54, Garth is using her experiences to educate others. She emphasized that her lack of financial literacy at the time made her vulnerable to poor advice. Today, she maintains a much more grounded lifestyle, focusing on her family and her health. The actress recently made headlines for her commitment to sobriety and her role as a primary caregiver for her elderly mother, proving that her priorities have shifted far away from the “pandemonium” of her 20s
