Former Disney star Dylan Sprouse took decisive action early Friday morning when he confronted an intruder at his Hollywood Hills residence. In a high-stakes encounter that unfolded shortly after midnight on April 17, 2026, the actor reportedly held the trespasser at gunpoint and physically restrained him until law enforcement arrived. The incident has reignited discussions regarding home defense for high profile residents in the increasingly targeted Los Angeles hillsides.
The situation began around 12:30 a.m. when an unidentified male attempted to breach the property Sprouse shares with his wife, supermodel Barbara Palvin. While Palvin immediately contacted emergency services to report an attempted burglary, Sprouse moved to secure the premises. Upon discovering the intruder on the property, the 33-year-old actor utilized a firearm to detain the individual. Reports indicate that Sprouse not only held the suspect at bay but also successfully tackled and pinned him to the ground to ensure he could not flee before police reached the scene.
Los Angeles Police Department officers arrived at the nearly $2 million estate within minutes of the 911 call. By the time they entered the property, the suspect was already successfully neutralized by the actor. Officers took the man into custody without further incident, and he was later arrested on existing warrants. While the initial call was for a burglary, authorities are currently treating the case as a trespassing incident. Footage from the scene shows a heavy police presence securing the area while a suspect in handcuffs was escorted to a patrol vehicle.
Though neither Sprouse nor Palvin sustained physical injuries, sources close to the couple describe them as “shaken up” by the violation of their privacy. This event is reportedly not the first time their home has been targeted by unwanted visitors. The incident highlights the growing necessity of robust home defense for high profile residents who often face unique security threats. Despite the trauma of the event, Sprouse’s quick thinking and background in intensive stunt training for his recent film Under Fire are being credited for the safe resolution of the break-in.
