The Circle of Trust is officially expanding. Universal Pictures just set social media ablaze by unveiling the first trailer for ‘Focker In-Law’ at CinemaCon 2026. The film marks the long-awaited fourth installment in the Meet the Parents franchise, and this time, the “Focker” drama is falling on a new generation.
For her first major role following the Wicked saga, Ariana Grande stars as Olivia Jones, a former FBI hostage negotiator and the fiancée of Henry Focker (played by Skyler Gisondo). The Ariana Grande Focker In-Law movie flips the franchise’s classic dynamic: while Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) is suspicious and defensive of his son’s new partner, the intimidating patriarch Jack Byrnes (Robert De Niro) reportedly “adores” her.
In a recent Actors on Actors conversation, Grande teased that her character is a “natural overachiever” whose hostage negotiation skills are put to the test as she tries to “rescue” her fiancé from a codependent relationship with his father, Greg.
The sequel reunites the core cast for the first time in over 15 years, including:
• Robert De Niro as Jack Byrnes
• Ben Stiller as Greg Focker
• Teri Polo as Pam Byrnes Focker
• Owen Wilson as Kevin Rawley
• Blythe Danner as Dina Byrnes
The film is written and directed by John Hamburg, who penned the original trilogy, ensuring the awkward, high-stakes family comedy remains true to its roots.
The teaser trailer, which premiered on April 15, 2026, features a nostalgic nod to the 2000 original. It shows Grande’s Olivia Jones hooked up to the infamous polygraph machine, overseen by an intense Jack Byrnes. When Greg walks in to comment on “the old machine,” Olivia’s cool, calm demeanor proves she might be the only person in history truly capable of handling a Byrnes interrogation.
Fans won’t have to wait much longer for the full family reunion. Focker In-Law is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on November 25, 2026, perfectly timed for the Thanksgiving holiday.
