Real Madrid Rejects Sergio Ramos’ Comeback Offer Despite Militao Injury Crisis

Sergio Ramos, the iconic Spanish defender, recently offered to return to Real Madrid amid the club’s defensive crisis, according to a report from Daily Post News. At 38, Ramos remains a free agent after parting ways with Sevilla earlier this year. Though he hasn’t officially retired, he is open to a final high-profile move to extend his playing career.

Following Eder Militao’s season-ending ACL injury, Ramos reportedly saw a chance to assist his former team, where he spent much of his career and secured multiple Champions League titles. According to El Chiringuito, Ramos reached out to Madrid with a proposal to bolster their backline temporarily. However, despite their defensive struggles, Real Madrid declined his offer.

The decision reflects Madrid’s aim to prioritize long-term solutions over short-term fixes, especially given past tensions with Ramos. The relationship between the club and Ramos has been strained since his 2021 departure following contract disagreements. Consequently, while Ramos remains a legendary figure in Madrid’s history, the club seems intent on exploring other options to strengthen their defense for the future.
