FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta has revealed a landmark new sponsorship agreement with Nike, reportedly valued at $1.8 billion over 14 years. According to sources cited by SPORT and RAC1, the deal, which is awaiting final signatures from Nike, will make this the highest-paying sponsorship contract in soccer history.

The contract, set to begin in 2024, will bring in $51.4 million (€48 million) more per year than the previous agreement, with this amount increasing to approximately $62-64 million (€58-60 million) annually after 2028. Averaging around $129.5 million (€121 million) per year, the deal also includes a $10.7 million (€10 million) signing bonus.

Securing this partnership couldn’t come at a better time for Barcelona, which has struggled with Financial Fair Play regulations and is in need of additional revenue to register key players like Dani Olmo, Pau Victor, and Andreas Christensen for the second half of the 2024/2025 season. Olmo, who has been a star performer with five goals in five La Liga games, and Victor, who impressed in preseason, will now be cleared to play following this financial boost.

An official announcement from Barcelona and Nike is expected in the coming days, marking a significant financial milestone for the Catalan club as they move forward under Laporta’s leadership.
