Top boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that Anthony Joshua still has at least five more fights ahead before considering retirement. Despite earlier speculation about Joshua nearing the end of his career following back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022, Hearn believes the British heavyweight is in a good place and has rediscovered his passion for boxing.

Joshua, who currently holds 31 professional fights, is gearing up to face Daniel Dubois for the IBF world heavyweight title on September 21 at Wembley Stadium. Since his losses to Usyk, which saw him lose the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles, Joshua has made a strong comeback with four consecutive wins against Jermaine Franklin, Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin, and Francis Ngannou.

Hearn remarked on Joshua’s rejuvenated mindset, saying, “I’ve never seen him enjoy boxing so much. The preparation, the team—it’s simple but effective.” He credited Joshua’s new rhythm with coach Ben Davison and suggested that the fighter is in a strong position to continue his career with at least five more fights.

While the exact number of future fights will depend on Joshua’s performance and preferences, Hearn emphasized that it will be taken “fight by fight.” Nonetheless, Joshua’s determination and current momentum suggest his career has more to offer.
