Former Nigeria forward, Brown Ideye, recently shared a humorous anecdote about his wife’s reaction to a lucrative offer from Chinese Super League team, Tianjin TEDA. Although Ideye initially had no intentions of moving to China, the financial incentives were too tempting to resist.
In a post on X.com on August 28, the AFCON 2013 winner recounted the moment he saw the staggering figures in the proposed salary and bonuses. “I had no plans to go to China, but Olympiacos received an offer from TEDA that they couldn’t refuse,” Ideye wrote. “My agent negotiated the terms, and when I saw those long numbers and told my wife, she immediately packed my luggage for me to leave the next day. LOL…”

The post highlights the impact of the substantial monetary offer, which ultimately swayed Ideye’s decision to make the move to China.
