Conner Leavitt is already done dancing. The husband of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt was eliminated alongside pro partner Adele Zaikman at the end of Tuesday night’s Season 35 premiere, becoming the first celebrity sent home during the two-night event.
Leavitt, 32, and Zaikman performed a salsa to Tag Team’s “Whoomp! There It Is,” earning just 12 out of 30 from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli. The score placed them near the bottom of the leaderboard, but the elimination still came as a shock, it was the show’s first premiere-week cut since 2018. The show also faced a voting mishap, with online voting down and only text votes counted.
“This has been the most fun,” Leavitt said after the elimination. “I have the greatest dance partner in the world in Adele. I can’t wait for the world to get to see her talent”. Zaikman, who earned her pro spot by winning Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro, added: “It’s a dream come true no matter what”. The women compete Wednesday night, with another elimination looming.
