Handwritten letters sent by singer D4vd (real name David Anthony Burke) from behind bars have leaked, shedding light on a friendship he formed with a fellow inmate while awaiting trial in Los Angeles.
According to reports, D4vd befriended a prison trustee an incarcerated worker who served food in the facility named Anthony (“Tony”). After learning Tony needed $1,000 to post bail for a family emergency involving his brother’s surgery, D4vd initially offered to provide the funds.
Legal Team Intervenes: In one note, D4vd apologized to Tony, explaining that his legal team advised him not to transfer any money. “Tony, My boy!!! ugh I feel terrible about leaving you hanging like that, bro,” D4vd wrote, offering apologies while explaining he could no longer follow through.
Religious Tone: The handwritten letters featured multiple scripture quotes, including references to Isaiah 41:10 and Philippians 4:13. D4vd assured his pen pal that he was actively praying for him and his family.
D4vd remains held without bail in Los Angeles following his arrest in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas. The release of the jailhouse notes follows recent court developments where D4vd’s private legal counsel withdrew from his defense, placing him under the representation of a public defender ahead of upcoming court dates.
