The mother of King Von’s son testified in court yesterday during Lil Durk’s murder-for-hire trial, offering testimony that appears to undermine key elements of the prosecution’s case against the rapper.
Shekema Springfield, the mother of the late rapper’s son, took the stand and made several statements that challenge the government’s theory. She reportedly said she never saw Lil Durk at King Von’s memorial and that no conversations about revenge took place during the three-day gathering. She also claimed that OTF Vonni had previously told her, “He’s going to take care of it,” when she asked who killed King Von. However, Springfield called Vonni a “liar” on the stand, further calling into question the credibility of key witnesses.
Lil Durk is accused of orchestrating the 2022 killing of Atlanta rapper Quando Rondo’s cousin, Lul Pab, as part of a murder-for-hire plot in retaliation for King Von’s death. The trial is currently in its second week, and prosecutors are working to connect Durk to the alleged plot. The testimony from Springfield represents a significant moment in the trial.
