Alt-rock icon Courtney Love is opening up to fans about a harrowing period in her life. In a candid social media video, the 62-year-old Hole frontwoman revealed that after moving to England in 2019, she faced severe medical complications that left her hospitalized and fighting for her life. Love recalled her weight dropping to roughly 100 pounds and losing her hair while doctors warned her that she might not survive.
Believing the health crisis meant her time was running short, Love poured her energy into creating music. The Courtney Love almost died 2019 new album tour update narrative centers on the long-awaited project, which features heavy-hitting collaborators including Michael Stipe and Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong. Love confirmed the album is fully finished and stands as the deeply personal project she always dreamed of making.
“When I made it, I believed this was my last record so I made the record I always wanted to make… I want to tour more than anything. I want to sing.” — Courtney Love
Now healthy and fully recovered, Love expressed immense gratitude to her medical team, friends, and collaborators who supported her through the ordeal. With her health restored and the album ready for release, the singer emphasized that she is eager to get back on stage and perform live for her fans once again.
