Katia Lindor is opening up about the deeply personal journey of welcoming her third child, son Koa Amani, with her husband, New York Mets star Francisco Lindor, as her biggest supporter. The couple, already parents to daughters Kalina Zoé, 4, and Amapola Chloé, 21 months, welcomed their first son on March 30, 2025.
The birth marked Katia’s third home birth, a chapter she described with profound emotion. “3.30.2025, The last time. The final home birth. A chapter closing,” she wrote on Instagram. “And with it comes the bittersweetness of it all, the deep gratitude for having had this sacred experience three times, and the quiet relief in knowing this part of my journey is complete”.
Throughout the labor, Francisco remained by his wife’s side, a dedication she has openly celebrated. Following Amapola’s birth in 2023, Katia wrote, “Couldn’t have done it without the best support system. Special thanks to my midwives & to my hubby @lindor12bc who stayed by my side every second of my labor. I am blessed!” For Koa’s arrival, she shared heartwarming images of Francisco beaming with joy as he cuddled next to her and their newborn.
Despite the intensity of the baseball season, Francisco made time for family. Katia shared that he returned home to be with them, even as she admitted feeling sad to miss the Mets home opener. The shortstop rejoined the team just one day after becoming a father.
The couple announced their son’s arrival with a simple, touching Instagram post featuring the baby swaddled in blue and the caption: “Koa Amani” . The name carries deep meaning, Koa is a Hawaiian name meaning “brave” or “warrior,” while Amani is a Swahili name meaning “peace.”
Katia reflected on how motherhood has transformed her. “Motherhood has taught me to hold space for both: the joy and the grief, the fullness and the letting go,” she wrote. “It has stretched me in ways I never imagined, expanding not just my heart and my body, but my mind, my spirit, my entire being”.
