Trigg was found unresponsive in the family’s Arizona pool on May 12, 2025, while Emilie was out with friends. Her husband Brady was watching Trigg and their newborn Theodore. Trigg was rushed to Phoenix Children’s Hospital but passed away six days later. The Chandler Police Department recommended a Class 4 felony child abuse charge against Brady, but prosecutors ultimately declined to pursue it.

Emilie stepped back from social media after the tragedy but has periodically updated concerned fans. She took a hiatus around the year anniversary of Trigg’s passing, later telling fans it was the “hardest month” of her family’s life, though she was able to connect deeply with family. She appeared on Jay Shetty’s podcast in June, reflecting: “I learned in the scariest, most real way possible just how quickly life can change, and how quickly life can be literally taken away.”
