TLC star Deon Derrico is taking legal action against a business partner named Tyrone Sprewell, claiming the man is attempting to sell a home they co-own without resolving ownership disputes first. This Deon Derrico lawsuit adds to the reality star’s mounting legal battles as he also navigates a restraining order against his ex-wife.
According to legal documents, the “Doubling Down With the Derricos” star asserts he holds a 25% stake in the property independent of his partner. Derrico insists that Sprewell needs his approval before selling the home and warns that he could suffer irreparable harm if the sale proceeds before the ownership issues are settled. He is asking a judge to halt the transaction for now.
The real estate dispute comes as Derrico deals with another serious matter involving his ex-wife, Karen Derrico. The mother of 14 was arrested in Las Vegas on charges including harassment, violating a restraining order, aggravated stalking, and preventing a witness from testifying through threat of violence.
Prosecutors allege Karen sent chilling emails to Deon, including one that read: “I want you dead. I could kill you and it won’t even bother me to go to jail and I’ll kill any of my kids if they take your side”. She also allegedly threatened to kill him if he appeared for a court hearing related to his restraining order.
TMZ obtained audio of Karen in a heated phone conversation with some of her children, where she admitted to threatening one of them. When a child confronted her, she replied: “I said I’ll kill you if you piss me off… because you’re disrespecting me”. Karen is currently out on $2,000 bond and wearing an ankle monitor .
Karen’s attorney, Jess Marchese, has pushed back forcefully, claiming Deon fabricated the threats. Marchese told TMZ that Derrico “sent the threats to himself and made it look like they were from Karen in order to screw her over”. He insists the charges are “total nonsense” and motivated by Deon’s spite.
The former couple, who divorced in 2024 after starring together on TLC for five seasons, have been locked in a contentious split. While they initially continued living together for financial and family stability, Karen moved out earlier this year with four of the children. Deon told Parade that the threats escalated after he made it clear he was no longer in love with her.
