Whitney Leavitt has some unfinished business to take care of. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star confirmed that season 5 will be her final season on the Hulu reality series, though production isn’t quite complete yet.
“It’s not completely wrapped up,” Whitney shared on the Just Trish podcast on June 25. “We just need to finish out the season, which will finish soon, and then that’ll be my last one”.
Production on season 5 was paused back in March following an alleged domestic incident involving castmate Taylor Frankie Paul. After charges against Taylor were dropped in April, Hulu confirmed that production would resume.
Whitney’s husband Conner, revealed that the season will be abbreviated. “They’ve cut the season short, five episodes only,” he said. “I think that’ll be a very abbreviated season considering all the things that happened publicly”.
The cast will go back to film interviews and wrap up a few remaining scenes.
Whitney first announced her exit from the show in May. In her Instagram announcement, she described the decision with characteristic humor: “You’re going to want to sit down for this video. I am leaving The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Take a minute. Take it in”.
“I feel content. I feel like this is a chapter that’s closing in my life and honestly, I believe that’s how it was always meant to be,” she said. “I’m so grateful for the show. It’s got me where I am today. But I’m ready for the next chapter”.
Whitney also shared that her relationships with her fellow cast members are in a good place heading into her final season. “I feel like this is literally the first time ever I’m good with everyone. It’s a breath of fresh air. No drama,” she said.
The Leavitts have largely stayed out of the drama surrounding their castmates. “We’ve removed ourselves so far from it, like even physically,” Whitney said.
