Rapper Mystikal is now facing a civil lawsuit from the woman he pleaded guilty to raping, and the details are disturbing. According to the suit, he forced the victim to kneel and pray with him before the assault. The filing comes after the 55-year-old was sentenced to 20 years in prison for third-degree rape.
The woman claims she visited Mystikal’s home in Prairieville, Louisiana, in July 2022. What started amicably turned violent when the rapper emerged from the bathroom and accused her of stealing money. She says he struck her in the face with a closed fist, choked her until she nearly lost consciousness, and caused bruises, scrapes, a laceration, missing hair, and a broken fingernail. He then forced her to strip down.
The woman alleges Mystikal spat in her face, threw rubbing alcohol on her, and threatened her with scissors he swung violently. She claims he then insisted they pray together. He had her kneel by his bedside and knelt beside her for several minutes. After the prayer, he placed his head on her chest, apologized, and then forced her over the bed, raping her vaginally and anally without protection.
After the assault, she claims he forced her to search his home for the allegedly stolen money and compelled her to send him $150 via a payment app. The civil case seeks damages for her physical injuries and severe emotional distress.
Mystikal, whose real name is Michael Tyler, pleaded guilty to third-degree rape in March 2026, a deal that reduced the charge from first-degree rape. He received a 20-year sentence, the maximum allowed under the agreement.
This is not his first conviction. He previously served six years for sexual battery in 2003. He remains in custody at the Ascension Parish Jail, with the civil lawsuit now moving forward separately.
