The rapper walked out of Orange County Jail on Thursday night, hours after a judge set terms that could send him back behind bars with one wrong move. Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, posted a $75,000 bond following his arrest on a felony drug trafficking charge.
The arrest stems from a November 2025 incident in Orlando. Police responding to gunfire reports found a Lamborghini SUV parked outside the Children’s Safety Village. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered a pink bag containing 25 grams of MDMA, $37,000 in cash, and documents bearing the rapper’s name. The pink bag matched one featured on his Instagram days earlier.
The court is keeping the 28-year-old on a short leash. The judge ordered Kodak Black to stay completely away from illegal drugs with no exceptions . He cannot possess or consume any controlled substances without a valid prescription. Additional conditions include surrendering his passport and avoiding contact with co-defendants in the case .
The drug chrages carries serious weight under Florida law. Trafficking MDMA between 14 and 200 grams is a first-degree felony. Attorney Bradford Cohen called the case a “total joke,” arguing his client was nowhere near the bag containing the drugs when police searched the vehicle. The vehicle was not registered to the rapper, and he did not claim ownership of the pink bag, though he did ask officers to return the cash, saying it belonged to his business.
The rapper has faced repeated legal battles. In 2023, he was arrested after being found asleep at the wheel with white powder around his mouth, later identified as prescribed oxycodone. He previously served federal time before then-President Trump commuted his sentence in January 2021. Now, with a jury trial requested and a not guilty plea entered, the case moves forward while Kodak Black walks a thin line between freedom and lockup.
