The Colombian superstar closed out the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with an electrifying 90-minute performance that cemented her place in festival history. As the first Latina woman to ever headline the festival in its 27-year run, Karol G delivered a special message for fans that went far beyond music.
The Karol G Coachella headlining set reached its peak during her final number, the fan-favorite “Provenza.” As the beat dropped, giant screens behind her flashed orange letters reading “Nos Vamos de Tour”, “We’re going on tour”. The announcement marks her first tour in two years, following the record-breaking Mañana Será Bonito Tour that wrapped in July 2024. The upcoming run will likely support her fourth studio album, Tropicoqueta, released June 2025.
Before launching into a cover of Gloria Estefan’s “Mi Tierra,” Karol paused to address the crowd with a pointed special message for fans that carried deep political weight.
“I am Carolina Giraldo from Medellín, Colombia, and today I am the first Latina woman to headline Coachella,” she told the roaring crowd. “I’m very happy and very proud about this, but at the same time, it feels late. There have been 27 years of this festival”.
Then she turned to the present moment. “This is for my Latinos that have been struggling in this country lately. We stand for them,” she said. “Don’t feel fear. Feel proud of where you come from”.
Throughout her set, Karol brought out J Balvin, Ryan Castro, Becky G, Wisin, and Cigarettes After Sex’s Greg Gonzalez. An all-female mariachi band and a pool of water on stage added to the theatrical spectacle. The night ended with fireworks, lasers, and confetti, a proper sendoff for a history-making performance.
