While the studio was light on specifics, the announcement has supercharged rumors that the father of the modern franchise, Michael Bay, is in talks for a high-octane comeback.
Paramount used its CinemaCon stage to showcase a “powerhouse” future lineup, confirming new entries for Star Trek, G.I. Joe, and Call of Duty. However, it was the mention of more Transformers that truly stole the show. Following the experimental shifts of Bumblebee (2018) and Rise of the Beasts (2023), industry insiders suggest the studio is looking to return to the scale and spectacle of the original “Bayverse.” This Michael Bay return new Transformers movie chatter follows reports that Bay has been in discussions with Paramount since late 2025, specifically after stepping away from other projects like Netflix’s Fast and Loose.
