Despite denying interest to replace Herve Renard as the next
coach of the Elephants of Cote d’ Ivoire, Stephen Keshi has said he is
honoured to have been shortlisted alongside 58 other coaches as possible
replacements for Frenchman Renard. According to Keshi’s manager,
Emmanuel Ado, the ‘Big Boss’ is ‘highly honoured’ to have been shortlisted as a possible replacement for the departed Renard. Hear him: “My client (Keshi) feels highly honoured to be shortlisted by Cote d’ Ivoire – a great footballing country. “Like you all know, he’s had a very good relationship with Cote d’ Ivoire since his

playing days. “It is a relationship he cherishes and will continue to cherish all the days of his life,” Ado said. Meanwhile,
he went on to insist Stephen Keshi did not apply for the job, and adds
that the ‘Big Boss’ will see out his two-year contract with the Nigeria
Football Federation.
“My client is very happy with his job as  the head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
“He
has a two-year contract with the Nigeria Football Federation and as a
professional, he will see out his contract,” Ado added.
Meanwhile,
the NFF are set to investigate the issue, and may end up sanctioning
Keshi if it’s discovered he applied for the job whilst having a contract
with the Glass House.
