The drama keeps escalating. Just days after the Chicago Bulls waived guard Jaden Ivey for “conduct detrimental to the team,” his wife is now publicly pushing back against his version of their relationship .
Caitlyn Ivey took to her Instagram Story on April 1 to directly refute her husband’s claim that she cut off communication following his Chicago Bulls release.
During a March 31 livestream, Jaden Ivey claimed his wife was watching his broadcast but refusing to text him back. “That’s why my wife in here, and she not even texting me,” he said.
Caitlyn responded swiftly and directly.
“We were communicating all morning of that day,” she wrote on Instagram. “People say things for attention, do not be deceived”.
She also shared screenshots of the vicious DMs she has received since Jaden made his claims. One message called her a “s*** wife” who “just wanted his money.” Another said her family photos are “complete bulls***” and “all a front” .
Despite the public accusations, Caitlyn made one thing crystal clear: she hasn’t gone anywhere.
“If you know me you know I have never once abandoned that man through all the trials.. and I still haven’t now,” she wrote. “There is obviously a lot more going on, so leave your conspiracies and your guesses to yourselves”.
The couple married in 2022 and share three young children: son Noah, 3; daughter Shiloh, 2; and son Isaiah, 13 months.
The public unraveling began when Jaden posted a lengthy video criticizing the NBA for supporting Pride Month. “They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim it in the streets. Unrighteousness,” he said.
The Bulls swiftly waived the former No. 5 overall pick. Since then, Jaden has continued posting religious content online, even comparing his situation to Anthony Edwards, who received only a fine for similar language.
Jaden has also opened up about his mental health struggles, admitting on a podcast that he has “almost committed suicide multiple times” and once held oxycodone pills in his hand before his wife talked him down.
For now, Caitlyn says she remains by his side. But she wanted the record straight about one thing: she never stopped communicating.
