Jaafar Jackson Set to Play Tiger Woods in New Biopic, Marlon Jackson Reveals

Just as the world prepares to see Jaafar Jackson embody his uncle Michael Jackson on the big screen, news breaks that the 29-year-old actor may already have his next iconic role lined up. At a recent press conference, Marlon Jackson, Michael’s brother and Jaafar’s uncle, casually revealed that the young star is in talks to play Tiger Woods in a future film project.

The revelation came during a broader conversation about the family’s legacy in entertainment. When asked about Jaafar’s burgeoning acting career following the highly anticipated upcoming biopic Michael, Marlon let the news slip with a knowing smile.

“I hear that he might be doing a Tiger Woods story next,” Marlon told reporters. The offhand comment immediately sent ripples through both the film and sports worlds, suggesting that Jaafar’s portrayal of the golf icon could follow closely behind his debut as the King of Pop.

The casting would represent a fascinating pivot for the young actor. After spending months transforming into Michael Jackson, mastering his dance moves, vocal inflections, and stage presence. Jaafar would next need to embody a completely different kind of icon. Tiger Woods represents athletic dominance, personal scandal, and one of the most dramatic comebacks in sports history.

The contrast couldn’t be starker: from the glittering stages of pop music to the quiet, intense focus of the fairway. Yet both men share a common thread, they became global superstars before age 25 and faced intense public scrutiny throughout their careers.

If the project moves forward, it won’t be the first time Hollywood has tried to capture Woods’s story. Amazon MGM Studios has been developing an adaptation of Kevin Cook’s biography The Tiger Slam, with King Richard director Reinaldo Marcus Green attached to direct. Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground, has also been in talks to produce that version.

It remains unclear whether Jaafar’s potential project is connected to that existing development or represents a separate, competing biopic. Neither Jaafar’s representatives nor Woods’s camp have commented on Marlon’s revelation.

For Jaafar, stepping into the shoes of Tiger Woods would continue a remarkable pattern: playing real-life legends who reshaped their fields. His portrayal of Michael Jackson has already generated significant buzz, with director Antoine Fuqua praising his “spiritual connection” to the role.

“Most importantly, it’s Jaafar who embodies Michael,” Fuqua told People. “It goes beyond the physical resemblance. It’s Michael’s spirit that comes through in a magical way.”

If that same magic translates to the golf course, audiences may witness the birth of a new kind of Hollywood career, one built on channeling the ghosts of greatness.

For now, all eyes are on April 24, 2026, when Michael finally arrives in theaters. The film, directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, traces Jackson’s journey from his Jackson 5 days to his reign as the King of Pop. It features an ensemble cast including Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, and Miles Teller as attorney John Branca.

If the Tiger Woods project proves real, Jaafar may find himself spending 2026 promoting not one but two biopics about two of the most famous men of the last half-century. Not bad for a feature film debut.
