Pop star Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau officially confirmed their romance, going Instagram Official on Saturday, December 6, 2025. The singer shared a carousel of intimate photos and videos from their recent trip to Japan, where Perry is currently on her Lifetimes Tour.
The post, captioned “tokyo times on tour and more,” featured a cozy selfie of the duo smiling cheek-to-cheek, a video of them dining together on Japanese cuisine, and clips exploring an interactive art exhibit. The move instantly solidified their relationship after months of speculation that began in July 2025.
Diplomatic Stop Confirmed Romance
The public confirmation follows a diplomatic appearance the couple made earlier in the week. Trudeau brought Perry as his “partner” to a lunch with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko. Kishida shared a photo of the group, calling Perry Trudeau’s “partner” on X, which Trudeau later acknowledged on social media by writing, “Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko.”
This Japan trip marks the first time Perry, 41, has shared direct images of Trudeau, 53, on her primary feed. The relationship comes after Perry’s separation from Orlando Bloom in June and Trudeau’s separation from Sophie Grégoire in 2023.
