Chelsea suffered a Club World Cup hangover as they were held to a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace in their Premier League campaign opener on Sunday.
Eberechi Eze had a first-half goal disallowed for Palace in the goalless contest at Stamford Bridge.
The disappointing result came after Chelsea’s demolition of European champions PSG to win the Club World Cup last month had raised hopes they could challenge for their first Premier League title since 2017.
The stalemate leaves Chelsea with work to do if they hope to mount a serious title challenge this season.
