“Diddy’s Lawyer Hints at Home Confinement Push: ‘He Wants the Best Chapters of His Life Ahead’”

Sean “Diddy” Combs might be trading his prison cell for house arrest — if his legal team gets its way. The rap mogul’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, has revealed that home confinement is “possibly” on the table ahead of Diddy’s October sentencing, arguing that his client’s therapy needs would be far better served outside the prison system.

Speaking with TMZ’s Harvey Levin, Agnifilo claimed the Metropolitan Detention Center isn’t doing enough when it comes to anger management and substance abuse programs. He said Diddy has been putting in the work, even starting a batterers program before his arrest. “Frankly, I wish he had done that 30 years ago,” the lawyer admitted.

While the legal team’s official sentencing memo isn’t ready yet, Agnifilo says he’s leaning toward asking the judge for home confinement and supervised release with mandatory counseling. “I think he needs it. More importantly, he believes he needs it,” Agnifilo stressed. “He believes this would make him a better person.”

Diddy, according to his lawyer, is determined to make “the last chapters” of his life “the best chapters” in every way that matters. But prosecutors aren’t convinced. They recently opposed his bail request, citing his “extensive history of violence” and labeling him both a danger to the public and a flight risk.

The Bad Boy Records boss, who faces sentencing after a split verdict in his racketeering and trafficking case, will have to wait and see if the judge buys his legal team’s argument — or if he’ll be stuck behind bars when October comes.
