It’s no secret that Offset and Cardi B’s breakup has been anything but smooth. Since their split last summer, the former couple has taken several jabs at each other on social media — from name-calling to messy allegations — making headlines nearly every step of the way. But in recent months, the noise has quieted, with both stars keeping things more private. Still, Offset isn’t done dropping breadcrumbs.
During a recent sit-down on The Joe Budden Podcast, the Migos rapper seemed to throw fresh shade, especially when asked if it hurts more when a partner cheats “up or down.” Offset’s answer was telling.
“I don’t know,” he replied. “Every situation I’ve ever seen go on… it’s like the unseasoned version. I’m dead serious.” Fans quickly interpreted that as a dig, possibly aimed at Cardi B’s rumored new flame, NFL star Stefon Diggs. While Offset didn’t name-drop, the timing and tone left plenty of room for speculation.
Offset also touched on Cardi’s new single “Outside,” which many believe is a diss track aimed squarely at him. He confirmed that he’d known about the song well before its release and suggested it wasn’t entirely a surprise. “If it is stuff at me… Everything is a timing thing. That record’s been done. I know about the record. It looks like how it looks,” he said, leaving fans to read between the lines.
When asked whether he’d respond to the breakup drama in his upcoming solo album Kiari, set to drop August 22, Offset made it clear he’s steering away from musical back-and-forths.
“The shots? I ain’t doing that,” he insisted. “I might speak on life situations, but I’m not doing that. That ain’t the way to do it. There’s too much involved — family, kids. That sht gonna be lame 10 years from now. I ain’t on that. But I’ll be expressing some feelings of how I feel about certain things.”*
With the drama still lingering beneath the surface, all eyes are now on Kiari to see just how much of Offset’s “feelings” end up on the record — and whether Cardi might clap back.
