Cressida Bonas is getting real about motherhood — the highs, the chaos, and the deeply emotional moments that have changed her life forever.

In a heartfelt interview with Country and Town House magazine, the 36-year-old actress described her experience raising her two children, two-year-old Wilber and newborn Delphina, as “really beautiful” and “quite emotional.”

“You hear so many different stories and it’s just been really beautiful, and really quite emotional as well,” Cressida shared. “The love I feel for my son is a love that I wouldn’t even be able to describe because at times it feels so visceral. But it’s also very challenging.”

Despite all the love and joy, she admitted that her idea of motherhood didn’t quite match the messy reality. “I had this image of a woman sitting under a tree with a peaceful baby wrapped in a blanket in the sun, looking all glowy,” she laughed. “But it’s just not that, is it? You have sick down your top, it’s in your hair, and your child is screaming.”

Cressida, who is married to Harry Wentworth-Stanley, also revealed that she named her daughter Delphina Pandora in memory of her late half-sister Pandora Cooper-Key, who passed away from cancer in July 2024. Navigating grief while raising a toddler was far from easy, but it came with a powerful lesson.

“I had no choice but to be present with my son instead of being in that place of grief,” she said. “And I realised that all children really want from you is not to be perfect, but to be present with them in the moment.”

Back in January, Cressida revealed she was “well into [her] second pregnancy,” which came from an embryo frozen during her first IVF journey. “It is incredible that a tiny cluster of frozen cells, already a life, can survive, suspended in time for years,” she said in awe.

However, baby number two came with new challenges. “This second pregnancy is very different from the first, partly because I’ve been battling morning sickness,” she admitted. “I’ve never had it before and now feel like I’ve been swaying on a boat for months.”

While it’s clear that motherhood hasn’t been all smooth sailing, for Cressida Bonas, it’s a ride she wouldn’t trade for anything.
