Tom Holland may swing through cities as Spider-Man, but on red carpets, he needs a little help — and that help comes in the form of Prada.
The 28-year-old actor has opened up about his love for the iconic fashion house, revealing that wearing Prada instantly gives him a boost of confidence, especially in environments where he doesn’t always feel at ease. Now, as the face of Prada’s new fragrance, Paradigme, Tom is stepping into the world of scent with just as much ease.
“I’ve worked with Prada for years now and continue to opt for their clothes on carpets — an environment that usually makes me uncomfortable,” he told WWD. “Prada has never failed to fill me with confidence when I’m stepping out.”
That confidence has now extended to the brand’s latest fragrance. “I instantly felt the same the first time I discovered Prada Paradigme,” he added. “I like things understated. But I do think a good scent can make a difference. It’s like… an invisible accessory.”
Though not a frequent cologne user in the past, Holland shared with GQ that Paradigme changed his view on fragrance: “When I first sprayed it, it was very woody, very earthy, and very wonderful, actually. What I love about fragrances is how they can connect you to specific memories. Sometimes when I’m having a bad day, I pull my favourite one out of my drawer and it helps me remember the good times.”
His personal routine? “One spritz on either side of my neck, and then two on my left wrist – I kind of rub my wrists together. And once I’ve got my clothes on, I might do a final spritz over the top, but nothing too extensive.”
Tom also gave a cheeky nod to his good friend and fellow fragrance ambassador Robert Pattinson, who fronts Dior Homme. Rob once told GQ he enjoys spraying cologne into the air and walking through it — a ritual Tom says fits him perfectly.
“Of course he does,” Tom laughed. “I love Rob to death, he’s a good friend of mine — we just made another movie together. I can absolutely picture him, coiffing his perfect hair, walking through a mist that he’s created for himself. He’s very dramatic and very artsy, and it seems exactly like the kind of thing that he’d do.”
With Paradigme, it looks like Holland is embracing a more refined, confident chapter — both on the carpet and off.
