Cynthia Erivo’s iconic smile just got a multi-million dollar seal of approval — literally.
The Wicked star’s mouth has been insured for a jaw-dropping $2 million as part of a new campaign with Listerine. Known for her powerful voice and trademark tooth gap, Erivo is now the face of the brand’s bold Wash Your Mouth initiative.
“We’re ecstatic to collaborate with the iconic Cynthia Erivo to help consumers recognise the importance of mouthwash,” said Kamran Shahzad, US head of commercial oral care at Kenvue. “We’re making a bold move to help protect one of the most recognisable mouths in Hollywood.”
The campaign emphasizes that brushing and flossing aren’t enough — and that Listerine completes the routine. And for Cynthia, oral hygiene isn’t just habit — it’s ritual.
“I’m the geeky kid who was like, ‘I’m brushing my teeth.’ I don’t think mom ever had to fight me,”she told People magazine. “Brushing and using mouthwash — Listerine specifically — really opens me up. It’s the last thing I do before I go on stage.”
Whether singing, speaking, or just flashing her famous gap-toothed grin, Cynthia says that fresh breath is part of her performance confidence.
“It gives me a restart. I take pride in [my mouth] because of my gap. People put on makeup or do their nails, but cleaning your mouth adds to that. It’s invisible confidence you carry with a smile.”
At 38, Cynthia doesn’t just stop at oral care when it comes to wellness. She also swears by lymphatic massage to reduce water retention and cupping therapy to flush out toxins — all part of her strict self-care routine.
“It’s arduous, but I love it,” she said. “It all goes hand in hand so I can actually be present and do the work the way I want to do it.”
