Keke Palmer is embracing growth — not just for herself, but for her two-year-old son, Leo.
The 31-year-old multi-talented actress and singer opened up about the values she wants to pass on to her child, whom she shares with ex-partner Darius Jackson. Speaking to Extra, Keke stressed the importance of personal evolution and emotional freedom.
“Just to never be afraid to evolve,” she said. “We get so caught up in our storylines, and even when they’re tough, we have a hard time getting out of them. But you can always shape-shift. You can always become someone new.”
Keke hopes Leo understands that joy isn’t something to wait for — it’s something to claim.
“I want him to know that happiness is his to take. But we got to take it, you know?”
Reclaiming Her Body After Motherhood
Since giving birth to Leo, Keke has also been open about her postpartum journey — physically, emotionally, and mentally.
“You have to get back to yourself after the baby. It’s really, really hard,” she told People.
“Anybody with kids knows sometimes it can take three, four, five years. It really wears your a** out.”
She credits Pilates as a game-changer in her routine, calling herself a full-blown “Pilates girl.”
“It don’t matter what your size is — your body is going to be snatched with Pilates,” she said. “It’s not about the scale, it’s about the muscles.”
Keke’s Wellness Formula: Discipline + Joy
Beyond Pilates, Keke’s wellness routine blends discipline with fun.
“Make your own meals, and keep it consistent with some type of activity,” she advised. “That really does transform your body.”
And she’s all for finding joy in movement — whether it’s tennis, swimming, or just dancing with friends.
“We forget that everything don’t have to be a serious workout. What if I just go play tennis or pickleball with my girl? What if we just go swimming for a day?”
From redefining womanhood in Hollywood to setting an example for her son, Keke Palmer continues to be a voice of authenticity and empowerment — and she’s not afraid to evolve while doing it.
