Lily Allen has candidly revealed she was once bullied by an ex-partner over what he claimed was her “poor hygiene,” describing it as a deliberate form of emotional abuse.

“It Was a Form of Bullying and Abuse”

Speaking on her Miss Me? podcast alongside friend Miquita Oliver, the Smile singer shared how a former relationship left her feeling ashamed and self-conscious.

“It was somebody I was in a relationship with who would do it to me… and I don’t think it was real. I think it was like a form of bullying and abuse,” Lily explained.

She added that the experience was deeply damaging:

“It was done on purpose to make me feel self-conscious and s** about myself — and make them feel powerful. And as bullying forms of abuse go, it’s a really horrible one.”*

Lily, 40, did not name the ex in question but made it clear the dynamic was toxic.

Lily Speaks Frankly About Abortions and Contraception

In the same episode, Lily also spoke openly about her reproductive health, revealing that before getting an IUD (intrauterine device), she would get “pregnant all the time.”

“I think I’m on my third, maybe fourth [IUD]. Before that it was a complete disaster area.”

When asked how many abortions she’s had, Lily admitted:

“I want to say four or five… I can’t remember exactly.”

Singing a parody of Frank Sinatra’s My Way, she quipped:

“Abortions, I’ve had a few… but then again… I can’t remember exactly how many.”

“I Thought It Was Romantic… But It Wasn’t”

Lily also reflected on one abortion that an ex-boyfriend paid for — something she once saw as a loving gesture.

“I remember once getting pregnant and the man paying for my abortion, and me thinking it was so romantic!”

However, she quickly pushed back on that idea, adding:

“No, I don’t think it’s generous or romantic. Kids are a lot more expensive. That’s a £500 investment to save potentially hundreds of thousands.”

A Life in the Spotlight

Lily Allen, who shares daughters Ethel (13) and Marnie (11) with ex-husband Sam Cooper, finalized her divorce from actor David Harbour in 2024. The couple had been married for four years before quietly separating.

Known for her unfiltered honesty, Lily continues to use her platform to tackle taboo topics — from emotional abuse to reproductive health — helping to reshape how these issues are publicly discussed.
