Speaking to CAFonline, Ayinde emphasized the squad’s unity, grit, and hunger to reclaim their crown and lift a historic 10th WAFCON title. The final is set to take place at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, and Nigeria goes in unbeaten — boasting four wins, one draw, 11 goals scored, and just one goal conceded.
“The experience has been great, especially because we’ve been winning from the start,” Ayinde said. “Everyone is working really hard and giving their best. That effort has brought us this far.”
The Rosenborg midfielder also highlighted the team’s transformation since their previous continental outing, where critics had written them off. “Yes, we’ve changed the perception. During the last tournament, almost every Nigerian had counted us out. But now we’re back — winning and in the final. We’re back as the giant of Africa.”
