Hold your vibranium shields! Pedro Pascal says those Avengers leader rumors are jumping the gun.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps star, who plays the stretchy super-genius Reed Richards, has addressed recent buzz that his character will take over as the next big boss of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes — and he’s not buying it.
“It’s big news to me, that’s for one,” Pascal said with a laugh. “I think Matt Shakman was talking about something from the comics, not the movies. I’m being honest here — I’m not even dodging spoilers. It’s kind of a mislead.”
The whispers started after director Matt Shakman told Variety that Richards could eventually “lead the Avengers,” citing the character’s evolution in the comics from lab-locked nerd to heroic family man and team leader.
But Pascal’s having none of it — at least not yet.
While he may not be calling the shots for the Avengers, Pascal will return alongside his Fantastic Four crew — Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach — in the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday. However, plot details are tightly sealed, Marvel-style.
So, for now, it looks like Reed Richards is sticking to saving the multiverse with the fam — not running the entire superhero roster. But hey, in the MCU, anything can happen… eventually.
