“It was rubbish money; unlike a salary job where you make 70K monthly, they pay you 90K after shooting for three months. It was not worth it,”
she said of her early Nollywood days.
Tired of the poor pay, she pivoted into business—buying perfumes and jewelry from Balogun Market for N3K and flipping them for N50K. Her strategy?
“I divided the profit into two: one for my piggy bank and the other to fund my life.”
Despite attention from men, Nons made it clear her grind wasn’t sugarcoated by a sugar daddy:
“Men were coming but not the type you think will sponsor your life. I was in a relationship but not in the sugar daddy vibe.”
Her real glow-up came when she dived headfirst into content creation, which boosted her visibility—and her acting fees jumped from N90K to N300K per role. At the same time, she kept stacking from other ventures: her salon, savings with her mom, and of course, her viral skits.
The birth of the Ada Jesus brand changed everything. With endorsement deals rolling in and her YouTube series Love Show taking off, Nons bagged her first $20,000, marking a major milestone in her career.
“I didn’t wait for a man to give me; my pride grew when I started making more money. There’s nothing I couldn’t give myself,”
she concluded.
