Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has reportedly lost around 150,000 Instagram followers after posting a photo of former First Lady Melania Trump on her Instagram Story. The image, showing Melania wearing a wide-brimmed hat during Monday’s inauguration anniversary, sparked outrage among some of Kardashian’s 358 million followers.
Data from influencer marketing agency Socially Powerful revealed that Kardashian’s Instagram follower count dropped by 144,963 since the post. On X (formerly Twitter), she lost an additional 9,553 followers.
The backlash was swift, with many fans accusing Kardashian of endorsing far-right politics. One commenter wrote, “Girl… sold out for far-right MAGA propaganda,” while another said, “Well, at least we can see exactly who you are.”
Some critics urged others to boycott Kardashian’s brands and shows, with one stating, “Guys, unfollow, don’t watch their show, and don’t buy their products. Hit them where it hurts.”
Despite the backlash, Kardashian has not responded publicly to the controversy, leaving fans divided over the intent behind her post.
