Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tsakute Jonah, popularly known as Saskay, is proving there’s more to her than her striking beauty and reality TV fame. In a candid interview with The Entertainer, Saskay delves into her career evolution, her unique fashion sense, and her thoughts on love, life, and the creative industry.
Since her time in Biggie’s house, Saskay has been busy exploring her creative passions. “I’ve been a full-time influencer, dabbling in lifestyle and fashion,” she shared. Recently, she decided to focus more on fashion influencing, saying, “I finally found my style—Androgynous Afrofusion, which mixes masculine and feminine outfits with African prints. It’s bold, but it’s me.”
While fans anticipated her swift entry into Nollywood, Saskay revealed she’s taking a careful approach. “I’m very particular about the films I want to do. I want roles that challenge me, something outside my comfort zone. Imagine me playing a wild party girl—that would be exciting!” she said. Saskay also teased her lead role in an upcoming movie, which she hopes will be her big break in acting.
Beyond influencing and acting, Saskay has her sights set on academia. “I’m a bookworm at heart, and I’ve been yearning to go back to school for my master’s degree. It’s something I’m determined to balance alongside my career,” she explained.
On the topic of love, the Northern beauty revealed she’s single but no longer actively searching for a partner. “I’ve spent too much time looking for love. Now, I’m just focusing on loving myself. If love comes, it comes, but I’m waiting for God to send my man,” she said, laughing.
Despite being from a culture that often pressures women to settle down early, Saskay says her family has been supportive. “They believe I’m financially stable and ready, but they’re not pushing me. It’s all in God’s hands now,” she stated.
For young creatives looking to enter the industry, Saskay offered valuable advice: “Your mind has to be in it. Educate yourself, even if it’s informal. Follow people you admire, avoid scandals, and be intentional about your brand. It’s a journey, but with focus and creativity, you’ll find your way.”
Saskay’s journey is a testament to self-discovery, resilience, and the courage to embrace one’s uniqueness. With her sights set on making an impact in fashion, acting, and education, it’s clear this multifaceted star is just getting started.
