Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor, Debo Adedayo, widely known as Mr. Macaroni, has once again made headlines by firmly declaring his refusal to engage with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at public events.

Responding to an X user who accused him of “pleasing the mob” by snubbing the governor, Macaroni didn’t hold back. He criticized the user and reiterated his stance, saying, “Sanwo-Olu doesn’t mean anything to me, neither do you, your father, or your popsy’s father.”

Macaroni’s frustration stems from a deeply personal ordeal he endured during the #EndSARS protests, where he was allegedly stripped, beaten, and tortured by the Nigerian Police. Recalling the traumatic experience, he explained that the brutality was an attempt to silence him. “The plan was to demoralize me and intimidate me into silence. I survived it,” he stated.

The actor also admitted that he still struggles with the emotional scars of that incident, candidly saying, “Yes, the beating is still paining me! Yes, I still have PTSD!” He maintained that he has no intention of reconciling with the government that dehumanized him, declaring, “I don’t want to mingle with the government that stripped me naked and told me to stop disturbing the governor.”

Mr. Macaroni didn’t shy away from addressing critics, referring to them as “slaves” who support questionable leadership. “For every time you bring up this issue, I’ll send you to your masters,” he fired back, adding, “I still dey Kampe, and there shall be no compromise!”

His comments have reignited conversations about accountability in leadership and the lingering impacts of police brutality. While some applaud his courage to speak out, others argue that his approach fuels division.

One thing is certain: Mr. Macaroni remains unwavering in his stance, ensuring that his voice will not be silenced.
